Interparliamentary Meeting on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency at the EU Sustainable Energy Week 2008




This one-day Parliamentarians' Conference took place on Tuesday 29th January 2008. It was held at the Van Maerlant Building, Committee of the Regions, Room 3, Rue Van Maerlant 2, 1040 - Brussels.

The IPM@EUSEW2008 focused in two sessions on the upcoming European Framework Directive for Renewables (RES) as well as on the status of the national Energy Efficiency Action Plans.

The event gathered over 50 Members of the European Parliament and of National Parliaments from the EU27 Member States. Furthermore, about 50 high-level civil servants from the European Commission, selected representatives from industry and the NGO-sector attended. The event was exclusively for Members of Parliament and upon invitation only.
